The Terra Nova Laser Compact 1 tent is the updated version of the Laser Competition 1 tent. This is a one-person, lightweight tent ideal for wild camping nearly all year round (not in heavy snow). I think it is great for most temperatures because the inner is solid rather than mesh, which is good for cold weather and stopping condensation from dripping off the flysheet onto your sleeping bag. It’s also possible to lift the ends of the flysheet so your able to vent the ends in warmer conditions. Read my; Best tents for wild and stealth camping post here.

I’ve owned the similar Competition tent since 2017 and spent a lot of nights wild camping in it. I used it while walking the Cape Wrath Trail and it performed perfectly on this trip. I’ve also use it for my two youngest children when we are on family wild camping trips, such as the Cumbria Way and Weavers’ Way. The Terra Nova Laser Compact 1 is very similar to the old Competition tent and I think it’ll be just as good for camping in the UK.
