The Tentlab Deuce Ultralight Trowel is the best lightweight trowel for digging toilet holes that I’ve found. It’s amazingly light for its size and surprisingly strong. I’ve used large pegs and hiking specific plastic spades for digging these holes in the past, but this Deuce aluminium trowel makes the job so much easier and quicker. It’ll cut through grass and small roots as you dig better than anything I’ve tried, that’s light enough for hiking and wild camping. It’s even small enough to carry in your pocket on day walks. This means you can always stick to the advice for disposing of your poo and keep our countryside clean and disease free. It’s been on all my long distance walks in the last few years, twice walking the length of the UK etc. There are three sizes of trowel and I use the #2 which I find to be the best compromise between size and weight.
