The Granite Gear Blaze 60 rucksack is my favourite rucksack for heavier loads. Ideal for long distance hikes and winter wild camping trips. I’m not an ultralight hiker and I prefer a pack to be comfortable more than out and out weight saving. This pack is a perfect compromise of weight saving without losing the luxury features or comfort. Both my grown up children have chosen to use this pack all year round. I’ve written a full review the rucksack here.

Description

The Granite Gear Blaze 60 rucksack is my favourite rucksack for heavier loads. Ideal for long distance hikes and winter wild camping trips. This is a pretty light weight rucksack and very comfortable, surprisingly so when carrying heavier loads. It’s also extremely user friendly with all its well placed pockets and straps. The pack is sold as a 60 litre size but I think that is just for the main body and the pockets are extra. All these pockets are large and the pack feels more like a 75L pack when you’re loading it with gear. I’ve carried all my winter gear and 12 days worth of food in it without struggling with space. But best of all the Granite Gear Blaze 60 rucksack was still comfortable with over 18kg in. This is thanks to the well padded shoulder straps and hip belt and good back support. The pack is not that heavy so still good for shorter trips with less weight and the there’s plenty of adjustment to reduce the volume. I’m not an ultralight hiker and I prefer a pack to be comfortable more than out and out weight saving. This pack is a perfect compromise of weight saving without losing the luxury features and comfort. My grown up children have both chosen to use this pack as well.
