The Great Glen Way is about 80 miles (128km) long, between Fort William and Inverness.
It was a lot nicer walking than I had expected, with good surfaced paths and now, a choice of routes. If you’re lucky with the weather, the new high level alternative paths are well worth the extra effort. They gave me amazing views over Loch Ness and mountains all around.
I was lucky with the April weather and had a lovely four days’ walking. Even the final few miles dropping into Inverness were interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole walk.
If you’re new to long distance walking, the Great Glen Way would be a good walk to start with.
